3 September 2026 — Site now publishes English only; category pages link their conversion pairs
The site now publishes English only. Roughly 2,750 pages that had previously been generated outside that scope -- home, info pages, guides, category indexes, unit pages, and curated conversion pairs -- were removed from publication, from sitemap.xml, and from the site's output. This followed an AdSense review that cited insufficient content quality, one contributing cause of which was that all curated conversion-pair pages had no crawlable link pointing to them anywhere on the site -- a search engine or reviewer could find them only via a client-side script, not through ordinary HTML links. Each of the 13 category index pages now contains a real, server-rendered link to every one of its curated conversion-pair pages, closing that gap for the pages that remain published. URLs that no longer fall within that scope now return a 404; no redirect was added for them, by design.
29 July 2026 — Trust and sourcing pages added
Added this changelog, the Methodology page and the Editorial Policy page to document how conversion data is derived, sourced and corrected. Rewrote the About page to remove an unverifiable “small team” claim. Adopted England and Wales as the governing jurisdiction for the Terms of Service and UK GDPR as the applicable privacy regime, both previously left generic. Corrected the electricity-to-carbon-emissions factor from an uncited 0.385 kg CO2e/kWh to 0.445 kg CO2e/kWh, matching the IEA’s published 2024 global average power-sector CO2 intensity, with a citation on the affected pages. Fixed a wording bug where a page’s meta description could read “kilometre to metres conversion” instead of “kilometre to metre conversion”.
28 July 2026 — Number agreement fixed; heart-rate-variability category removed
Corrected unit names that stayed plural after a singular value, for example “1 metres” instead of “1 metre”, across direct answers, worked examples, FAQ text and reference tables. Removed the heart-rate-variability conversion category (RMSSD, SDNN, and two derived scores). RMSSD and SDNN are both real, standard measures of heart-rate variability, but they are different statistical measures of the same signal with no fixed ratio between them; publishing a numeric conversion between them stated something false, so the category was removed rather than kept with an invented factor.
24 July 2026 — Source citations added to unit pages
Added outbound citations to BIPM, NIST and Wikipedia on conversion pages for unit definitions, so a reader can check a unit’s definition against the body that sets it rather than take the page’s word for it.
24 July 2026 — Temperature and mass reference tables corrected
Fixed a bug in the “common values” reference table: it resolved each reference value through the wrong intermediate unit and, for temperature, skipped the offset conversion entirely. Temperature pages had stated that water freezes at 0°F (the correct figure is 32°F) and that body temperature is 37°F (the correct figure is roughly 98.6°F); mass pages implied unrealistic comparisons such as a paperclip weighing a full kilogram. Also replaced an incorrect worked example and made temperature pages print the actual forward and inverse conversion formula.
23 July 2026 — Internal data-consistency check corrected
An internal cross-check table, used only by this site’s own automated tests and not read by any published page, still held 1024-based (binary) byte-to-kilobyte figures for units explicitly labelled as decimal (1000-based, per IEC 80000-13). This did not change any number a reader had seen — the published decimal-kilobyte and decimal-megabyte pages had used the correct 1000-based factor throughout — but it closed a gap between the site’s own consistency checks and its published data.
